 has any one else noticed how much the services plans have gone up !!! Just in the process of renting my Ml service plan and it's gone up by £6 per month over the same period of time  , guess prices have gone up but it's an extra 216 for me

That is about 60p/day.

If you can afford a Mercedes than it should not break your bank account.

The price for Merc servicing is pretty shocking, just had a quote back on a 10 plate ML350 at £63 a month over the next 2 years. Which is £1512. That is for 32000 miles over the next 2 years.

I have just had a quote of £425 for the next 50,000 and 3 years for our X3, which is what it was from new.

It is 60p on top of what was already very overpriced.

Most brand of main dealers do charge a lot for servicing, but can't lease vehicles be serviced anywhere as long as original parts are used?

Main dealer A service for my 11 year old CLK will be £160, so prices for new car servicing is a rip off.

I don't think they are though, I just find Mercedes hideously expensive compared with most others.

If you compare the ML to say a Porsche Cayenne, the ML is £1512 over the two years and the Cayenne is £1150.

A BMW X5 (without choosing a service plan) is £638 over the same period, or £550 over 3 years and 50k miles.

Range Rover Sport is £699 for 5 years or 50k miles.

So I don't agree that all main dealer servicing is extortionate, but Mercedes is right up there with brands like Maserati, in fact even Maserati are now offering fixed prices on their cars.

4200 Ins I £714.00 Ins II £958.00 Ins III £1,125.00 Brakes and pads£320.00

Quattroporte Ins I£836.00 Ins II £1,315.00 Ins III £1,750.00 Brakes and pads £635.00

Mercedes are right up there when it comes to service costs.

On an 11 year old car surely you would just do the A service (which is just an oi change) locally?
£70 of oil and £30 to change it? Why pay £60 more for that?

Or dare I say it, National Tyres will do it for £65, and they use Fuchs oil which is great stuff. You struggle to buy the oil that cheap anywhere.
Give them an oem filter to use just in case and job done.

Are you sure I just checked and it works out to £42 month, my 63 bs is £45 month.

Yeah, just went online and checked again.

How many miles a year is that for yours?
If it is around 12k miles a year it reduces a lot as only two services needed.

Maybe you should pay it for him if you enjoy wasting money.

I doubt it will get any better either.
General maintenance is becoming more labour intensive.
And when you consider the cost of just a fuel filter for a 642 engine @ £80 plus vat.
Then add labour which can be up to 45 minutes on some models ( depending on design ).
Even I agree it's ridiculous.

On an A-class it went from £27 to £30 a month, and while I still think it's a good value for money (for me and my 9-yr old 31k A200 C169), this is an increase of 11% which is somewhat above the inflation.

At least the next service in a few months time will include sparks, cabin filter and ATF+filter change.

What gets me is that partfof Mercedes exorbitant service charges are to check my exterior and interior lights are working! As if i would know that already!

Well that's the approach MB are taking isn't it.

'We can jack the service bills because .... well they can afford our cars'

Personally I think MB are taking the p*ss.

Mercedes C W205 is £1080 for three services, about £360 a service not to bad compared to about from memory - £500ish for an A and £800ish for a B for my E Class W210

BMW service plans definitely much better value for money.

Is this from a fresh quote? I was under the impression it was fixed price, so assuming as I'm already part of one it would just stay the same each month or is this just for new customers?

So that is 2 oil changes plus one full service. It only starts to be better value if the service plan is for 4 services as I think the 4th service also includes an expensive auto gearbox oil change.

Pointless taking it for the first service, do for the following three.

The price stays the same regardless of how many miles i choose using this site -

Service Care Selection tool

Mine is due every 12.5k miles or every 12 months.

If I drop the mileage to under 15k pa the price drops to £42 a month from £56.

I guess the best thing to do is just say we are doing 15k miles a year.
