AMG brake calipers, discs and pads off my SL55.

Calipers: Good overall condition. Functionality wise they are perfect with no sticking pistons etc. The seals are in great order and the plates at either end of the caliper have no corrosion or noticeable wear. Cosmetically they are very good, but not new obviously so there are some light marks consistent with any caliper of this age.

Caliper numbers-

Front: 20.7919.01/20.7919.00
Front carriers: 19.7661.04

Rear: 20.8042.00/20.8042.01

Note that these are Brembo part numbers as the Mercedes numbers are not stamped on Brembo calipers. To find if these fit other cars than the R230 SL you will need to search these part numbers in Google.

The front carriers do unbolt and for some models this caliper is used with a different carrier. Again search in Google or contact Brembo fro fitments.

Discs: New in 2013 these are in excellent order with no measurable wear whatsoever.

Pads: Brand new Mintex pads - boxed, never fitted.

Price: £1100 ovno

Hi Chris - If these will fit mine (mine has full floating disks), then maybe buying these will save me some expense and allow some flexibility in getting painted calipers.

I don't know if your calipers are the same as mine, and / or the caliper mounts are different, does anyone know?

I've emailed you....

Hi 'cb1965'
Hope you don't mind me asking but what are you replacing them with?

Hi 'cb1965'

Matt

Long story. Was going to put a big brake kit on the front as one turned up secondhand, but the calipers were going to need painting. So decided that a nice set of yellow calipers all round were the go.

Anyway big brake kit turned out to be a duffer - wouldn't fit my car, but by then I had decided I wanted yellow calipers LOL

In order to not have the car sitting there with no brakes for a week or so I bought a second set of standard brakes off Ebay and had them stripped, rebuilt and powder coated yellow. They are now on the car and these are the ones from my car.

Simples ... as they say!

I want to get my calipers painted too and don't like the idea of the car sitting without any calipers!

Was thinking of doing the same, but I just need the calipers

I bought these disks, calipers and pads from Chris back in June with a plan to fit them to my SL as my disks were heavily worn. But as these are different to my disks, and would have had to change calipers too (my 2007 SL55 has bigger calipers and later disks) I've managed to source some correct type disks for my SL elsewhere.

So these are now for sale again, I will post a separate advert soon, but hopefully will get interest from responding here.

These are however very heavy and local collection would be best I feel.

Please let me know if you're interested.

Thanks
Tim

Off Topic!

Good point :). Camberley, Surrey.

I'm in Wandsworth, a mere 60 minutes drive away.

Perhaps a New Year pub meet for all South London/Surrey folk? I'm sure you know a few pubs that serve good grub?

I used to be a big fan of the "Gourmet" runs that London Advanced Motorcyclists organized. Few can refuse a drive that ends with a delicious meal!

Just a thought (that everyone else on the Forum has had before me!).

OT, but something to chew on? (No pun....).

Robert
