has any 1 in here got a seven seater merc if so can you tell me if there is a age limit for the kids that sit at the rear

Hi Clive,

I have a W210 with the seven seats, and have not read in the cars manual about any age restrictions for the rear seats.

We have used them for all of my kids, with the appropriate car seat or booster, and also regularly carry adults in there as well (As a punishment :D :D )

The only problem I have found is the early cars have no headrests (I think the W211 does) so emergency braking can cause taller kids to whack their heads on the top of the seats (If you see what I mean)

HTH

Hi Clive , we used to have an old 300 TE with 7 seats, i regularly rode in the back (boot) until i was about 27 when we sold it !

Bless :),

Was that because you was a Naughty boy then  :D ,or was it a way of watching eye candy, without nobody else noticing. :D

Lol !! :D no , just when we had other people with us, rather than make them sit in the boot, i sat there and amused the kids by teaching them to wave at truck drivers amongst other things....

When i say 27, i mean very occasionally ...... quite regularly when younger (teens etc) but not so much as i got older (twenties etc)

This was also just when we went somewhere as a family like up to town or something .....

Geez..... what a hole i'm digging......... i'll get my coat .... :o

Stop Digging, the way you went on then, you could have got the 300 TE in it and our ML,LOL :D :D

I find it quite off putting following an MB or Volvo estate etc with 2 kids staring at me, pulling faces!

Got a V230 at the moment. Definately no restrictions in terms of seating adults or kids, but it depends if driving a van is your type of thing. Don't expect the usual MB comforts, but i like it for its higher driving position and adaptability.

Looking to swap this soon for a new V class, or a older V220 cdi.

I'm fairly certain that you'll find there's a weight limit for the two rear seats rather than an age limit.

thanks all i was worried that you coulnd put young ones in the back

........And they are not breaking the law if they manage to weasel out of wearing their belts, also i think you could (without breaking the law) carry 3 small ones on the rear seats. Can someone confirm or deny this please. Seem to remember seeing something on vehicle delivery documents.

No mention of a weight limit in my owners manual.

Did pick up 9sqr metres of ceramic tiles, plus adhesive at the weekend and got to say it made the old girl handle a bit strange :D

The owners manual for my 2000 210 7 seater says that there is a height limit - no taller than 150cm!
