Anyone have one of these? Is it worth it? And is it best to go for money off fuel vouchers or airmiles or????

I'm sure some of us have the regular Shell Driver's Club Card. Apparently the V-Power Card is invite only and offers double points on V-Power sales. As I understand it you have to buy 100 litres a quarter to be invited. I buy 100 litres a week....

I have one, purchase about 100 litres a month (v-power diesel) and get £5 voucher back every couple of months or so.
This also includes filling up the other petrol car with 60 litres of normal unleaded.
Of course its worth it, its free :)

I have one , AMG 55 Kompressor + 5.5 S-Class £400 a Month !!!

so how did you get the V-Power Card? Did it just arrive one day or did you have to ask for it??

They should send you a V-Power card, as soon as you 've bought the 100 litres a quarter required. Same with the BP Ultimate Club, they sent me one as soon as I bought the required amount of BP Ultimate fuel. I think it's the same account number, just a different card design.

how much more is V power per litre than ordinary unleaded ?
The reason I ask is I called at the local Total station today for 5 litres of unleaded for the lawn mower just so i could ask the kiosk attendant how much more expensive is Total Excellium over ordinary unleaded....
Answer 8 pence per litre
I dont think Excellium is as high octane as V power is it

V-Power is typically 7p per litre more, but then you get 4p per litre rebate, plus promotions. I add to that cashback through credit card and it costs me the same as regular unleaded.

Got one and use it for Air Miles which are accumulating nicely. If only the ash would go away.

I got really fed up with the v-power card so stopped using Shell completely. They kept sending me bonus vouchers, such as fill up 3 times with v-power and get 300 bonus points yet when I checked my statements the points were never credited. If you chase shell they will eventually credit the points but it seemed like a con to me. If you use this card I'd suggest you keep an eye on your points balance very carefully.

I think every time you fill up, they (the person behind the till) are meant to scan it, as the voucher has a bar code on it. Most of the time they don't know what to do, sometimes they take the voucher and keep it to one side, or they tell you to fill up three times first, then hand the voucher in, or everytime you fill up they initial it (or make some sort of mark), and they retain it the third time.:dk:

Looking at my sig, I usually use Shell because it's on the way to work, and it's usually 1p cheaper than BP, although it doesn't matter too much using BP, I can still collect Nectar points.

Thanks for that - I suspected that was happening, but have never bothered to check the statement carefully enough. I will now!

I had that happen to me (none credit of bonus spend points). Now whenever the voucher comes, I photocopy it and make a note on the photocopy every time I make a qualifying fill. I usually email them to chase, but it generally takes between 3 and 6 months to see the bonus points credited depending when in the statement cycle the end of the qualifying period for the voucher is.

I noticed that my bonus points appeared to be a little light, so I emailed them this week. Sure enough 500 points had been missed, and have now been credited to my account. As RichardM suggests, it's worth checking.

Seems to affect every statement I receive - bonus points are missing.

The straight forward "Fill up with X litres Y times during month Z" seem easy enough to get credited if you report it to the Drivers Club.

Sadly the extras like "Spend at least £X in the shop and get Y points" and online shopping points are pretty much lost forever.

I suspect it's because filling stations just don't pass on the vouchers. I don't understand why Shell don't just apply the offer to your account automatically if you qualify rather than rely on moving paper vouchers around. Costco just give you the discount on qualifying promotions - no need of the voucher. Shell should do the same.

I've stopped using Shell Plus Points now because of those missing points, and the faffing about with those paper vouchers.

I now use BP and collect Nectar points, and you can also spend them as soon as you earn them, instead of waiting for three months at a time to receive your Shell vouchers through the post.

Also there are more places where you can collect Nectar points (i.e. Sainsburys), so the points add up quickly.

i do that too, i've collected 13000 points since january but then my truck does 7mpg and costs around £300 per day in diesel :D

I received a reply from Shell today. Completely misunderstood my query thinking that I wanted to know why the bonus points for the vouchers supplied with my statement didn't appear on that statement. Not even I am that daft!!

I copy/paste the same email everytime this happens. Never been interpretted that way before!! :D
