I've been looking for a good condition CLK63 or low mileage CLK55 (W209) AMG for a while, plenty of Black cars with high mileage but few if any Silver cars.

If anyone has seen a decent example or know of one for sale, private or Trade, I would be grateful. Willing to travel.

Bump-Still looking. There must be a much loved Silver CLK63 or CLK55 that someone is forced to part with out there somewhere?

Out of interest, what are you looking to spend?

I just looked at the high mileage W209 CLK55 in silver at Peterborough. It has 139k on the clock and is up for £8k. I told the trader I woudl happily pay more for a lower mileage/better condition example. For the right car W209 I would think around £12.5/13k.

If I found a Silver CLK63 I would expect them to start upper teens (with high mileage) and lower 20's for a moderate/low mileage example. I don't want a Cab' I am looking for a Coupe.

Maybe this post reply might bring a few owners out of the woodwork?

BTW I know to my cost there's nothing more expensive than a cheap Mercedes!

If you are going to keep the car for a few years, I'd say go for a '63.

Otherwise buy a '55, the residuals on a CLK63 in say two years time will give you a heart attack.

A really good example W209 55 should be around £10-11k, whereas you will probably lose that same amount on depreciation on the '63, which in man-maths means the CLK55 is actually free! (did that make sense, because it did in my mind).

Absolutely got that formula. I tend to keep my cars for a few years but this car won't get lots of daily use so a '55 would be my preferred option.

I'll keep looking.

If I see or hear of any, I'll be sure to let you know.

Not quite the silver your after but I'm just about to put up for sale my CLK 55 due to complete lack of use. It's a 2003 in a grey/blue (more grey) colour, sorry not sue the name of the colour but is stunning, which has done 63k miles with full MB history.

If you would like more info please let me know.

Thanks for the reply. Since posting this a few Silver examples have appeared including a 51k 2003 model just 30 miles from home. Had a quick look at it last evening but it was pouring with rain so decided against driving it in those conditions. This car is very clean and up for £10k.

Trying to picture a Grey/Blue model (could it be Tenorite Grey?). Could you tell me a bit more about your car Owners, Extras etc that would help.

No problem, the Silver 55' sounds nice! Im pretty sure the colour of mine is 'Petrol Grey' but could be wrong.

Over the weekend I'll get all the info together and post a picture (if the rain stops of course) and see what you think.

Cheers

Apologies for the delay on getting back to with a pic of my 55'. Anyway here it is

Hey RsvGreg,

I know of a CLK63.... coupe... in silver... with low mileage... in cracking condition.... but I don't think the owner will part with it! lol :D

(for all those reading, I am not replying just to tease our man RsvGreg.. I am merely taking him up on his sporting offer of alittle ribbing ;)).

I hope you manage to find one buddy.. I think you are doing the right thing by keeping patient and waiting to find what you really want instead of going for something that you're only 80% happy with.
