This and that.
Does anybody have a 'portable' hardtop hoist? I mean one that isn't attached to the garage ceiling. Does such a thing even exist?

Somebody's R129 won't fit in his garage, and I'm wondering about alternatives.

TIA

PJ

Never heard of such a thing, the big problem is that you have to mark the spot where the car stands before you can use a hoist

Not sure why you'd need such a thing, unless you could never get anyone to help. The hardtop is too wide to lift off on your own, but not heavy for two people.

Ive never heard of a portable hoist. I had one that fitted to the garage ceiling, but didnt have enough height to use it.

I have...

Mercedes made one and it's bloody expensive! I'll dig out some details and post a photo.

Foshizzle!

They don't make them any more - not surprised at £800 each!

So what do the hardtops weigh then? His is a panoramic.

You could make one of course...

If not check eBay - that's where the two in existance that I know of were bought.

I looked on ebay, and there's nothing around at the moment...

I know - big girl :D.

Some blokes in the US take them off on their own!

Can't say I ever had a problem with it - both my R129s had Panoramic roofs. The R107 was heavier and that's 40kg I think.
