Sl55 gear selector problem

Hi guys , my sl55 is hard to come out of park , brake light switch is ok so I have ordered the metal replacement piece for my selector module , it turned up today but it never came with a spring just wondered if the old one from the plastic piece will fit the metal one ok ?
Can anyone advise me if this should be ok before I remove it and strip it down

Well I replaced the broken piece in my selector module today and the spring fits both the plastic and metal pieces and the car is now working perfectly , just a heads up really for anyone thinking of doing this , bought the part of eBay for £30 delivered
