I don't drive it every day ... and even less over this Christmas period. Tried to start it yesterday and got a few clicks from dash area and clock dials just whirred ... no noise from starter motor.
A colleague started it with jump leads and said I should take battery out to recharge overnight on a trickle charger.
My question is ... if I take it out to charge it will it upset any security settings and will I need radio codes as I had to do on anther car a few years ago.
Can I fully charge it in situ by just connecting a battery charger or will this damage 'things'.

No radio code needed. I would connect a charger conditioner with the battery in the car. Beware jump starting it. Can cause problems. Use a battery pack instead. There is a terminal for this purpose in the engine bay. On our 200 its on the opposite side of the engine to the battery under a small cover. Not sure if same spot on a 350.

Its ok to start via jump leads but make sure that the car with the good battery giving you the jump start is NOT running. Take it for a spin of at least 20 miles or trickle charge it with the battery connected

No need to remove the battery for a battery charger. Connect it to the battery, then mains, leave for a couple of hours, then remove mains, then disconnect from the battery.
