2008 Facelift R171 SLK 350 Auto.
I recently purchased a SLK 350 and after my purchase the seller made this comment:

I think this uprated 2008 V6 engine/gearbox combo is the best they made for the SLK...even better than the SLK55 AMG (much less engine weight than the V8 so better handling and almost as quick but with much better fuel efficiency and CO2/car tax banding!). I don't know if you've looked at the figures, but this facelift 3.5 litre V6 2008 engine is actually as quick as the very latest V6 version in the brand new SLK350 launched last year (personally, I think the 2008 facelift model looks better than the new one too...).......so you still have the bar room 0-60 MPH bragging rights too!!

There will be a significant performance difference between SLK 350 and SLK 55 - significant.

The previous owner sounds like a man who was trying to justify not buying a 55 to himself. If I wanted fuel efficiency I'd have bought a 200, and if he doubts the handling of the 55, perhaps he ought to have a word with Charles Morgan, who didn't utter a word as my passenger during 6 laps of Goodwood. Right, Charles? :)

Take no notice and enjoy your new motor!

Cheers,

Gaz
