Hi all, I rather fancy the idea of replacing the "fake" carbon trim on my '98 SLK with a High gloss Piano black finish. I don't suppose anyone would know if any such thing is available?

Not seen this on any normal production cars - maybe a special edition though ? In which case you would need to find a car with it, and obtain the VIN to be able to order the parts.
If not, I'm sure AMG or Brabus would be happy to oblige if you were to write them a blank cheque

It's an American site, and I dont know anyone who has had dealings with them but the weakness of the dollar makes them cheap, you just need to check if they post to the UK and at what cost.

Black Birds Eye Maple is not perhaps what you're after though - it has a metallic but very subtle pattern in it. I love it - and with the matching wheel - it looks very smart indeed - but then I'm biased
