So I Ordered A BMW Today

Looks great, John - you’ll love it.
Ride safe :thumb::thumb:

Thanks Ted - it's a GS Adventure - I was amazed how things have moved on (don't read if you're a purist motorcycle rider):
Sat Nav/Media
Bluetooth
Keyless
ABS
Traction Control
Adaptive Suspension
Clutchless Shifting
Hill Hold
LED Lights
TFT Instrumentation
And probably other stuff I've not learned about yet

It's more than that Ant - when the car went my hobby went - I need that bit of pleasure, like we all do, so i've just resurrected my dormant biker side for a while.

Only pulling ya leg mate. Sounds a fab idea. Look forward to the selfie with your leathers on. :thumb:

Leathers :eek::eek::eek:

I can't talk for everyone, but most of us bikers of a certain age tend to wear textile/kevlar etc, squeezing into skintight leather is not pretty:)

Looks smart John.

I know bugger all about bikes but I can safely say that is the first one I've seen with that spec including the digital dash.

Good luck with it and as you say, at least you can hide it in the garage.

I am really tempted by an M2 in the bright blue they do but they are way too expensive and I would probably get sick of it in a week. Old git.

Rukka Navigatorr jacket/trouser being collected tomorrow - bloomin expensive though at c£1800

The TFT is new for 2018 model year :thumb:.

Looks great but I can't quite see the sidecar? It does have a sidecar, or where else do you put the coffins?:D:D

Certainly a different direction. Enjoy :)

Not ridden a motorbike for decades. Other half would be seriously miffed if I had a bike. She had a head-on with one just over 30-years ago, resulting in a number of broken bones and a written off car that burst into flames (we'd only had it a few weeks too). She still involuntarily flinches a little sometimes when one gets a little too close.

Ride safe mate.. a lot of morons on the road these days.

PS I know your secretly thinking of ordering a car as well so come on spill the beans :D

I've just got rid of an old gs, my mate has a 1200 adventure and they are spectacular!
They are capable of just about anything, more agile than you'd imagine too.
We did the north coast 500 on them, him on his 1200 and me on a 2000 gs 650 with a pi$$ pot lid! Rained nearly all the time, but probably just as much fun as my SL if not more.
Enjoy

That looks great. Tough, practical but engineered with German sophistcation. I've had 2 wheels since I was 16 and can't let the guilty pleasure go. Enjoy your biking!

The other option would have been to see Kate at Hideout, and get her to make you a set of Adventure Pros.

I have been using Kate at Hideout for over 2 decades. Simply the best protective biker gear.
Had a race suit made in 'roo for my son a dozen years ago. It has survived over 50 on circuit 'get offs' without damaging the rider.
The somewhat experienced suit is now winning flat track races on speedway circuits...but the dog remains unimpressed...

Buy right, but once.

I’ve had a BMW Tourguard jacket (sadly discontinued now) and Streetguard trousers for around 12 years now. From memory, it came in at around a grand for the suit which was hugely expensive.

They were the first motorcycle gear to be made from a similar ballistic fabric to the Rukka Navigator with the Goretex included as part of the outer layer and it’s been fantastic. I’ve ridden entire days in torrential rain and it’s never leaked. It gets a bit warm in 35c+ temps even with the vents open, but that’s a small price to pay for the sheer practicality, comfort and overall performance. Hope your Rukka kit proves to be as good.

Do you by any chance know Mike Hill? He's a mate of mine and has just won some league of flat track racing here in the UK, not sure if you're here or in Australia!

No, I'm here, the right way up in the UK. I don't know Mike Hill, but my son probably would.
I'm not making this up, but it's my sister Shelagh who lives out in Australia.....
