So you think your Merc's are fast....?

Just so we can all get a feel for how many of us Mercedes forum guys are registered for this up and coming German marque only Vmax event, can anyone who has sent the Vmax team a note of your interest, please list up below.

1. Sav man. E55AMG
2. Ricky s. E55AMG
3. Maff. CLS Shooting brake or SLK55

As per Nicks post, to reiterate, the date and venue is not to be openly discussed on the forum, (usual Vmax policy) and interested parties must registar with the vmax team, giving your name, car and mobile telephone no. too email address [email protected]

As you may see from a previous post, Nick already had a list as long as your arm of potential interested parties, so if interested, you should really get booked in asap, as the Vmax event numbers are usually around the 60 cars max.

How are we doing over here Ricky?

Uhmm, as you can see Nick, not overly well, so guess you'd best not rely on the MB guys in this instance.
There's only 3 of us registered as far as I know, how are the other forums going reg wise?

I have registered but no reply yet

Mark

Craigs on holiday Mark, be back in a week I believe, he will sort the registered guys out when he returns.

An updated list of the guys registered with the Vmax team for the German Marque cars only Vmax day.

1. Sav man. E55AMG
2. Ricky s. E55AMG
3. Maff. CLS Shooting brake or SLK55

Come on boys, it'd be nice to see a few more tuned Mercs on board, you're getting seriously out numbered at the moment!!

Is it possible to come as a spectator to enjoy the day or is purely for guys who are taking part?

Olly, Acid, Lopes

Where are your names - oh yes what about Phil at Rebellion

Good to see Merc numbers starting to creep up!! Lets get a few more on the start line!!

Where is Marty and the others? Come on guys!

This should be good. Glad to see Maff is signed up as usual. I should be there too.

In what Graham? Audi or BMW?
Think Marty right at this time, is going to tag along with myself for the day, and whilst we may not see or moreso hear his wonderful sounding car, hopefully he will produce one of his infamous video's.
I hear from Nick that Nigel (Nudenut)and his R8 TT is coming along, and possible going head to head with another R8 TT, that will be something to watch, given i am told Nigels car is producing virtually 900BHP, think this will be a very good and fun day out as you have said, and look forward to meeting you at last.

I love this event it's a great day out and I nearly signed up again but after

2x Woodbridge runway runs
2x Bedford trackdays
1x Goodwood trackday
1x Mad dash across Italy for our wedding after the wife put the wrong villafranca in the satnav
7x Santapods
1x nurburgring
4 or 5 vmax's

in the voice of Scotty "Aye denny think she can take much more cappin" :)

Just an update -

We now have four tuning companies that are joining us with another two showing interest.

We have official photographers for the day who will release their photos after the event which can be used for private use and not for promotion.

We also have the great Pistonheads crew coming down for the day and they will be reporting on the event throughout the day and be chatting to everyone involved to write a piece for the website.

We are up to 41 runners - as I write this - who have registered and we have a very special mix of German metal which is towards the insanity end of the bhp scale..... This is shaping up to be a very enjoyable day!!

COME ON YOU MERCS, LET'S GET THE NUMBERS UP!!!!

Fair enough Marty, I understand.

I am doing an event called 30-130 in March and then DeutscheMAX it is.

A good day it looks like it will be (as they always are).

I will be there in my '10 Audi S4 (3l V6 Supercharged). I wasn't going to do this one as my car is bone standard. 355PS is enough for it to be fun, right up until I hit the limiter around the 160mph point I expect. So I'll be peaking before the timing beam.

Just when it came down to it, despite saying over and over I wasn't going to, I knew I wanted to go regardless. It will be a nice benchmark for later tuning and where else can I use a tank of fuel doing WOT runs to the speed limiter? Sounds like sensible carbon build up prevention to me ;) The drags to the bend are fun if nothing else!

I would say that while it's nice to see the big gun forum and tuner cars attend, there is nothing elitest about any VMAX event. Amoungst the supercars there are always a variety of vehicles from the other sections of the scale. So if you fancy it but are hesitent because you know you won't be setting any records, don't be.

Hi, to all that have done this event, you set of in a kind of drag event, then double back on yourself down the main drag. What kind of speed do you take that corner at the bottom (aprox)
Then how much braking distance is there after the speed trap.

On your first run you will be solo so you can get a feel for the grip and the car, there are two turn off points off the main runway the first one my car cannot stop in time but the second one is pretty easy. Make sure you to push the car through the rest of the track back to the start line, not only is it fun but you will get a feel for the car and conditions much faster allowing you to get closer to the limit on the main bend next time.
