im sorry folks but after a really enjoyable 4 months i have been tempted back to buying a new 3.2 tt ( i can hear you all crying NO NO NO dont do it  ) but the tt arrives next weekend , i will be sorry in away to see the slk go because it really is a good all round gem of a car, its good looking, fast as you like, etc etc. but with only two seats i really do need the extra space. i did look at the c230/320 but the merc stealers dident really want to play ball which made me a little mad, audi offered a much better deal by a few grand so that was it ! (job done, so to speak) i just hope you can all forgive me and dont take the mickey to much ;) thanks for all your time folks cheers :D

I know that feeling very well. I love the cars but the dealers are the absolute worst I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. To call them arrogant is to be very nice indeed :(

I have passed my C280 on to the wife and when that eventually goes I will not be buying another Merc. Add the more recent quality issues, the very high cost (to buy and service), I see no reason staying with Mercedes. I have simply had enough of them.

mobbster what have you done? nevermind my missus wants me to change to a saloon shes sick of 2 seaters. Of interest the audi dealers around here are as bad as the mercedes ones if not worse, so are the BMW ones, shame that Toyota don,t have a car that I would buy. All the best.

hi gaz i have had a tt before (1.8t 225 )and it was a great little car, so now gone for 3.2 to see what thats like.had some quotes off merc stealers as low as 31k for that 350 and it cost me over 41k i really did think they were taking the mickey big style ! but managed to get over 37k off audi and another 3k discount off tt. so i dont think i did to bad. any way hows your motor going ? cheers all :D

mobbster, I share your views on MB dealerships, if I could buy a merc from another source I would, they tend to hold most of the aces. My car has not yet done 1K, never do many miles but even that is ridiculous. Thinking of getting a big comfortable saloon that does loads of mpg and then tour europe. Might even buy a holiday pad somewhere in the warmth. Keep in touch.

it would be nice if you could buy a place near barcelona gaz (i love it around there-even if they all drive like nutter's) just think if you got a place over in spain we call all have a trip over to see you ! :) im sure you would be a very popular person on this forum ;) might start a new thread asking members where they think you should move to (ha ha) cheers all only 4 days until i down grade !!!! :D

Good choice. The 3.2 TT with DSG is one of the best cars in the world. It'll take Mercedes many years to catch up with the technology.

just picked up tt and the v6 is in my eyes is alot better to drive than the 1.8t 225 i had before, it sounds great on the over run popping and banging and the sound is really different to the slk 350 v6. cheers all :D

I think the 3.2 TT and the R32 sound like the old UR Quattro.... Very very nice cars indeed..... You've made an excellent choice and its not a downgrade....
Enjoy..

ps... Whats the DSG??? is it some sort sort of paddle shift??

dsg has two clutches for quick up shifts and blips on down shifts, its what amg are look towards because its smoother than auto and can do superfast gear changes etc etc via paddles on steering wheel. i just choose 6 speed manual. cheers :D
