Sold the C55 :(

After 2 years of wonderful AMG ownership the time came to part company with my beloved C55, honestly, it's the best car I've owned by a country mile, the combination performance modification polished off an already great car, reliable and amazing to drive and a car I don't think I'll ever be able to replace.
Would like to thank all the guys at PCS and Mike at Gem Clean for all there help and support during my AMG ownership, people like this make owning expensive cars more pleasurable and provide piece of mind that your beloved is always in safe hands, thanks guys.
Although I may be AMGless I intend to remain an active member of the club as no doubt at some stage I'll be back.

This is the replacement, not every ones cup of tea I know but I have an itch.
Initial impressions, it's very fast and handles extremely well, build quality is on par with my C55. Doesn't have the level of trim and toys of the AMG but what it lacks in some areas it makes up for in others.

I did look at the X50's and the later 2005 996 S, the X50 has the extra 30 bhp but you do pay for the privilege of owning an X50 as the pricing reflects. Again, the S has the additional bhp and ceramic brakes at 1k per corner so I decided I would pass. I looked for a while found one, had it inspected by a Porsche specialist, the money saved over the X50 or S for less then half of what I save I can modify to add an additional 100+ bhp, just requires larger inter coolers, exhaust system and a remap, I could opt for hybrid turbo's or have wheels in the stock ones changed.
To be honest, the car has sufficient power for it's size and weight but I know the engine and drive train has the potential to take a lot more.

The guy I do a lot of work for has one and I jokingly tell him at least I can fit a week's shopping in the back of mine. His reply: A pint of milk and a box of cereals, what more do you need?
