Some pictures from a 124 day out

where's the 120MPH in a E220 gone?:)

That would upset a few people here Billy,it`s bad enough to read it let alone looking at the picture lol

shame i couldnt of been there... looks like I missed a fantastic day.

Maybe next year!

No problems chaps, being a 124 nutter I feel is my duty to share the pictures

I`ve some more, inluding a light blue Carat Ducha saloon that was on ebay 1 year or so ago.I`ll upload them later tonight or tomorrow latest

Dash, Billy and Niks,

Great to meet you too. Sorry I missed you guys leaving, I would love to have spent longer with you. Owners' Club event days like this are always great to attend, and after a while you keep bumping into people that you know, and it flys away so quickly. I was hoping to meet Trapperjohn as well, but I don't think he got memo about it being a day out and not a relay!! Thanks for the compliments about mine, one of three beryl blue cabs there. The bald head (upper face, as Sharon calls it) you see over the top of my bootlid in the first pic was quite a different shade (of red) by the time we got home!

There were three E500s there, and one of them was the last one off the production line, a pic below of it (on the left) with the other one you have pictured already. A number of cars, mostly on the grass verges, entered a concors comp, which was won by SPA 934, the cab you posted above. Other fun prizes, such as the sparkliest (any guesses?!!), the scruffiest, the highest mileage etc were given out, plus it co-incided with a Rover club event, which having owned three of the models there ( a Rover 80, a 3.5 litre saloon and an SD1 3500), really enhanced the day at a great venue.

Billy 124's lovely coupé is the first in the line of 124s below.

Even more great pictures, please keep them coming.

This looked like a great day out, is the Mercedes-Benz club the "Better" club to join.

It certainly seems to have a load of W124 cabrio members, which is my particular interest.

I feel I should make the effort and join one of the clubs, just not sure where to pin my colours.

Regards, R.

Rigel:

Yes Join the official club i joined a few months back so i could attend yesterday and gain access to EPC with all the fettling i do.

For about 30 odd quid a year you get access to the forums, Monthly MB mag called the Gazzete which is a good read. Access to EPC and WIS and your own official Mercedes Benz Club membership club card sent from Germany.

As ^ it`s well worth joining,you get a lot for 30 bp
As for the forum again as ^ this is by far the best as the other place it`s to slow, maybe simply because different forums for different models

There`s a lot of knoledged chaps there but here is where all the action happens

^^ What they said! A good year to join, celebrating 60 years of being the first official MB club in the world. The SL day is being combined with 60th celebrations at Blenheim Palace this year. Beats Bluewater, where you could blow £30 on lunch?!!

Nice photos.

Where was the event held please? Did I miss it in the thread?

The event was held in Gaydon at Heritage Motor Centre and it was organised from another forum so No you did not miss the thread

then i was too late to get entry as it was over subscribed. how it panned out i may not have been able to make the trip down from scotland anyway last weekend....

hopefully they will hold another W124 next year
