Sorn date?

Just declared SORN on the SL. Did it online and the date came back as declared as from 01/10/09. How can this be? Surely the SORN can only be accepted for full calender months starting from the next month. I'm now going to apply for road fund duty refund. Can I claim for Oct as well since it seems the car has been off the road since then. (according to DVLA)

Exactly the same happened to me Derek when I declared mine SORN 2 days ago.

I have posted the tax refund form today.... bit concerned whether i'll get Nov & Dec as with the strikes no doubt it wont arrive with them until into Nov. Maybe i'll get Oct aswell?

also i thought that if it appears its been sorn since 1st Oct then as i have driven thru some tax cameras this month (before it was SORN) will they think i'm being dodgy!?

when you fill in the tax refund form, it doesnt ask when you are doing it from, so its up to them i guess
