I spent hours to look for topics with possible answers and I cant find them... so I have to create own thread with own questions and I hope for some answers.

I have Y reg W210 Estate with command system.

Im looking to upgrade some sections of it. Speakers are blowing and I do enjoy OEM command look and functions.

Questions:
1. Is there a amplifier for speakers? How many speakers are there?
2. Is there a bass speaker? Is it of amplifer? If so what power is it?
3. Whar resistance are all speakers? Can I do straight swap or do I need to change full system. I remeber my Mitsu had 2 Ohm system and when I added head unit it sounded quiet and like from mobile phone of something.
4. Do I need to use adapters to fit diffrent speakers or plug & play?
5. Can I add external sub inline with existing system? How?
6. Is there a way to "make it louder" as sometimes its not loud enough when I cruise and enjoy the ride with my CD`s.
7. Anything else I should know when I consider upgrading sound system?

I dont expect answers for all questions but I really would like to start somewhere. If we need SA (special application codes) or Sales Codes for equipment in my car I can provide it tommorow.

Please help. Thanks.

1/ there are 6 speakers, 1 in each door, and the tweeters will either be on the dash or next to your wing mirror.
3/ the speakers are 4 ohm
4/ you will need adapters for your doors, one reason the doors are not flat, they are shaped inside, if yoy are planning to use the sam speaker wire, when i bought my adapters, included was the wire adapter to plug direct to the new speaker,

Thank you very much... that is a good start to think of upgrading my system.

Anyone else?

Hi,
If you have a sub it will be on the rear shelf on the passenger side I believe, have a look at your parcel shelf from inside the boot, if you have three speakers one of them will be your Sub.
I think the speakers will be 4 ohm unless your car came with a Bose system which will be on your cars data card or little badges on the speaker grills.

Is that same on Estate?

Hi,
Sorry did,nt notice yours was an estate, should be the same regarding the 4 ohm speakers though.

Going back to specs...

Can anyone tell me what power are stock speakers? What is power output of stock command?
