You'll need speaker adapter rings (less than £10 a pair on eBay, check the Connects2 site for part number) Then get some nice speakers, which depends on your budget. the JBL / Infinity range (same speaker, different badges) are good and have a high sensitivity which means that they can be driven by the head-unit easily.

In my professional experience i would suggest a good set of components up front running on an amplifier, most people don't realise that standard head units are hopelessly underpowered.
Running upgraded speakers on the same h,u will give better sound but not a massive increase, tbh running an amp isn't a massive issue, a high level input such as High Level Speaker to Low Level RCA Converter 2 Channel Car Auto Cable Adapter | eBay will allow an amp to be added to the existing headunit.

Good luck

Thanks guys i do not decide how i do yet , i am just thinking of a cheap upgrade maybe
just speakers , last cars upgrade cost a lot Focal components in front Focal coax rear doors and Audison amp and a big kicker sub in the spare wheel well

tbh, I'd replace the headunit.. just about any new unit will have a better internal amp than the Mercedes unit.. Then the speakers.
A high-level amp will just amplify the shortcomings of the Mercedes head-unit.
Get a headunit with line outputs if you want to add an amp later...

I'd do amp first, then speakers, then HU.

Some of the MB headunits are very good quality pieces.

Personally i always sound deaden a car first, You will be surprised at the difference doing this can make.
