sprinter 311 engine problem

Newbie to the site, hope someone can help with my problem.
I have a 57 plate sprinter and i need an engine for it, had a look on ebay but not sure who to trust, any help would be appreciated.

PS, is all 311 the same engine ?

I believe they came with three power options - approx 100, 130 and 160 bhp in the 2.2 engine.

your engine is a om646 and the later ones are om651 and they are totally different ,you can buy any 646 and then transfer your bits to the other engine .
The year of transition is 2010 so be careful witch engine you buy.

Thanks for the quick replies, So any 2.2 engine out of a sprinter from 2006 to 2010 will be ok, just change over everything from one to the other ? you know how some are euro 4 and euro 5 will this be ok.

yes make sure you check the engine number a quick give away yours the timing is at the front and the new ones is at the back.

they where changed when the vito was facelifted in 2010 it went to vito and sprinter.
