It is very much on its way. A purpose built PorterCable 1000 for the U.K. David at Autopia has been working on this and it seems 500 units are on the way to a U.K. distributor plus you can still purchase from Autopia USA (if the exchange rate is good it may be good to go direct!) You can also pre order but I am not sure about the U.K. version but I am investigating this. Go to Autopia using this, there is also a 15% off deal currently.

Anyway, see this picture I found on the autopia.org forum it even has a U.K. plug. (PS there are no decorations on this one, apparently the actual model looks better, if that can really be true for a polisher ) Also a picture of the dressed up US version

This will mean no more wrecking your back shifting a site transformer around.

Also a guess at the price, a bargain at around £85 including VAT is rumoured.

Doh!! Only just bought the 110v version and not even used it.

Looks good for anyone that's wanted one, but put off in the past...

Just got an update from Autopia. They anticipate availability for the new machine in the 240volt version in late August 2007. So having the 110volt version won't be a bad thing!
