If it's not the connector at the base of the seat, then you will need a new sensor (flat flexible tile that fits inside the passanger seat cushion). Costs around £150 plus labour for removing and dismantling the seat.

There are cheap gizmos you can buy on eBay to full the SRS system into thinking the sensor is OK, but I can't recommend that.

thanks for your replys , i will check out the wiring and plug .does anyone know if the seat sensors are the same on the w203 as there is one on ebay , thanks tony

Hi,
The normal fault for the SRS light coming on is as stated above the passenger seat occupancy sensor, but in the O/P's case the code kicked up as "passenger side front seat belt", this to mean is pointing to a seat belt pre-tensioner fault NOT a seat switch/wiring fault. Depending where the pre-tensioners are fitted (either the seat belt reel itself or the seat belt stalk), I think you need to replace it or check the wiring integrity to it.

O/P I have just re-read the title of the thread and you state "passenger seat" and your text in the thread it say "Passenger side seat belt", which is it? Or did the title box to the thread run out of letters.

Correct. To clarify - my post above refers to 'Front Passenger Seat Occupancy Sensor', and not to 'Passenger Side Front Seat Belt'.

the fault code was passinger side front seat belt , the tensioner is part of the belt reel ,

the fault code was passinger side front seat belt , the tensioner is part of the belt reel ,

If the code was the belt, and as you say the pre-tensioner is in the reel then I would start by looking at the wiring to the reel and maybe a possible replacement. Be aware that the SRS light stays on once a fault is logged, even if the fault is then cleared the light will stay on and will need to be turned off by a diagnostic code reader of some sort.

Sorry my poor reading, I was also distracted by belt/occupancy sensor issue
