I've got a 1995 C180 picked up for a song which has proved as reliable as I'd hoped. I've had an erratic fuel guage so tried some quality fuel (the dear stuff) to see if that would clean the sender unit. The upshot is that I went to start it this morning and it almost cut out till I booted it and got the fuel through - I don't give it a pump before starting. It's been running fine but I'm wondering if I might have dislodged some muck and it might be clogging up somewhere. Am I being paranoid, is there something else I could check for or is it unrelated and I should look at something else? I suppose I'm being over cautious because I don't want to get stranded.
