Hello mb family
New to the forums and defo need a piece of advice
My clk 200 (w209) has suddenly started acting weird. My steering controls have stopped working this morning and it is only when I switch on my headlights. As soon as the lights button go to 0 they start working but when on auto of further ahead the controls won't work at all
Please need some quick healthy tip

Cheers

Do you mean the steering "wheel" controls, or the other controls on your steering?. Do you have comand? etc
More info may be required. What is showing on dash display etc? Does everything work ok when you turn lights on manually?

Neil

Hey Neil , the audio controls I meant they stop working when the lights are turned on and the moment I turn lights off they start working
So basically audio controls won't work in the night

Sounds like a job for the experts (auto electrician) to me, but maybe if you provide more information someone may be able to help.

Year of car?
Original Mercedes or aftermarket audio? If original, which model audio, Audio10, Audio20, Comand, etc?
Does this happen when you have Audio showing on the dash menu centre display?
Can you scroll through the menu options and do the options show in the display when the lights are on?
Do the knobs/buttons on the actual audio work ok with the lights on?
Which steering wheel controls don't work, i.e. volume up/down, and/or radio station/CD track select?

I am wondering if this is a coding issue with the wheel? It may not be correctly coded to the car? In which case it will need hooking up to STAR.
