Hi Guys, i spent most of yday looking for steering wheel control adaptor. I've got a Merc C Class Sedan, 2002 C220cdi 2002 Audio 10. i just bought this last week, had a bmw previously and this was far better than the 320d esp after the problems i had with it!

anyway, is there a way i can put an after market stereo in, and retain stering wheel controls? Idealy i want to play my ipod through the system, and would like to see track info, which i believe the dension 500 does not give. Is there anyway to see track info on the small dash display.

I could either
1) Stick with the Audio 10 and put a dension gateway 500 in, but i believe theres a freezing problem.
2) Go for a becker Grand Prix player, i know there is an adaptor for this but got a feeling it doesnt work and takes up the cd changer/ipod socket.
3) stop being lazy and use the HU to control everything!

C'mon guys u lot must no something i dont!
Newbie over n out!

Halfords seem to have a lot of adapters to connect steering wheel controls to after market ICE equipment

yeh just tried them. they get ther leads from autoleads and involves a technicial guy re wiring it all.

and just rand them they dont do it for the mercs. prob because a lot of ppl dont change ther stereo. i'm stuck now!

Your not stuck yet. Perhaps Alpine stereos are a thought they make great stereos which sound and look fantastic, and have available adapters for the steering wheel controls to work sold seperatly. I would suggest giving Alpine stereos a thought as they deffinatly make an adapter for most of there stereos for your car

Please pay attention I've a 9853R Headunit Alpine and I installaed the original Alpine steering gear interface form my W203 year '03: volume work ok, but seek track no! They interfere with car menù: changing radio track change also,in the mean time, the cluster indication, in the same way working on the car menù change radio station or CD track!!

So please try before buy
