Just returned home today from a weekend away. Pulled into the drive after a long journey on the M5 (thankfully missed the southbound nightmare at Avonmouth Bridge - we were northbound:thumb:) and switched everything off - but everything didn't go off.

The first sign of trouble was a funny smell. You know the sort of thing - not exactly burning, but something smells hotter than it should:(. Did some sniffing around inside and out, then realised it was coming from the radio header unit.

The radio was switched off (display was blank), but the cassette motor was still turning (i use a cassete adapter for my music). And the radio display lights were on (like when the side lights and headlights are on), except the car lights were all off.

None of the radio controls did anything. Starting the engine didn't help. So had to pull the fuse. When the fuse was replaced, everything started working normally again, and the radio presets didn't get wiped :bannana:.

Anybody got any ideas about what that was all about? Is there any other way to reset the unit without pulling the fuse?
