Strange Parrot Car Kit problem

It appears to be interferring with my radio signal for some reason. I had the unit 'professionally' installed, and I'm sure everything was fine for a while (I could be mistaken as I don't listen to the radio that often). However, I've recently noticed that the signal is just terrible (so bad that I can only pick up radio 1, and even that's not clear). I took it to MB (as I said, I didn't link it to the car kit installation), who tested and said that the signal is clear when the key is in postion one (no power to car kit) but as soon as the car is started and the car kit gets power the signal drops.

Does anyone have any idea why and how this could be happening?

No idea, but our family car (an Espace) is on the its 2nd Parrot Kit and I have had this issue with it. It already had the 1st kit fitted so can't swear that its not just crap Renault. The dealer did think it should be better, but wanted a day to strip the car. I've said no as I like the car in one piece...

There is a Parrot forum which might be worth a look http://www.parrot.com/forums/english/ .

Thanks David, I'll try posting there as well. So you had the "poor signal" problem too?

Yup. I loose Hallam FM where I live. Every car I have had for the last 15 years would get a good signal so something is amiss.

For me it is not worth the risk at letting a Renault dealer loose on the car (especially if it is the Parrot and I end up footing the bill). If it was the merc on the other hand where I do most of my miles I might be more interested!

If it were me, I would refer the problem to Parrot NOT Mercedes. It is their installation that has resulted in your loss of signal. Just my 2P
