if the CL65 weighs 2580 (Which is the CL55 plus the 160kg difference in SL55-SL65) and has 685bhp. that equates to 265BHP/Tonne? and roughly what is its 0-60 now? unless you have accurate info on what it is exactly.

CL65 weight is 2111 kg
0-60 is approx 4.2 to 4.4 seconds on a good day, depending on traction, and how well you launch the car.

The SL65 gets a more consistant time due to the LSD it has fitted. (CL65 does not have one)

A Lancer mad colleague has put me onto this.

OK, don't come back at me about comparing a mildly tweaked production car (Mat's CL65) with an extreme, money no concern demonstration of just what can be done with a Lancer EVO, but.....

Maff if you see a car looking like this, on the road (it is road legal) or at Bruntingthorpe, just play it cool and DON'T race it!!

Basically the Norris Designs 800BHP Lancer does 30mph-130mph in 6.19 seconds!!!

There are loads of 1000+ BHP scary sounding cars on the web, all going for the fastest 1/4 mile etc, but meeting this at Bruntingthorpe is a real possibility, so watch out!

Ahh,, but at Brunter's it's 130-190mph+ that counts,also the Lancer has a cd of a brick ..so I dont think Maff should be too concerned .

I fancy the carbon fibre air box, but at £5k for another 40bhp it seems a bit expensive.

Coming from a "Japanese" tuning background, I've been amazed at how much Mercedes tuners seem to want for very little and how wild some of the performance gain claims are.

£5000 for an air filter because Mercedes design their cars so wrong in the first place Unless the air box is a real restriction at the moment it won't make a difference. Most engine management systems will automatically compensate for increased air flow anyway so the tune can only increase boost, lean off the engine slightly or increase ignition advance to make power through "tuning"

A better way to get 40hp from your car is to always use optimax or Tesco 99-Ron.

£5k should buy 2 new turbos, a boost controller and a day on a rolling road and significantly more than 40(ahem)hp.

It just annoys me when you say Mercedes and 0's start appearing from no where.

For the record, my mercedes remains as it came from the factory but it does like a drink of Tescos 99

At least the Lancer can go around corners
