Tailgate lock vacuum leak

I have traced the central locking vacuum leak on my 250TD estate to the tailgate actuator. I managed to open it to find the diaphragm was split badly, so a new one is needed.

Part number 140 800 2975 is the part I believe at £11.40 + vat.

Question: How do I seperate the white housing with the plunger coming out from the black lump that attaches to the lock system? It looks as though the two can be split using the gubins (technical i know) where the arrow is in my pic. Does this gubbings get pushed in/out/lifted up? I have had a go and all I am doing is mullering it now so anyone who knows please tell me.

In the picture I want to seperate the big part on the left from the big part on the right.

It is ok. I have sussed it in the end. Nothing a 14lb hammer and an angle grinder couldn't sort. :)

Following on with this problem, these picture may help others. On opening the white housing you will find the diaphragm inside which on face value looks ok:

But on closer inspection the problem is obvious:

This split is the reason why the tailgate didn't want to lock and why the entire central locking system was slow to lock. Simply put, any leak in the system will effect the whole system. A new actuator fitted and the problem is entirely solved. Easy job, 1/2 hour work and gave me the opportunity to service the tailgate lock at the same time.

Hope this helps someone else.
