Car
CLK55 AMG
This morning at 06:45 I hit some water on the M61 southbound which spun the car around, bounced off the central reservation barrier and I ended up pointing the right way on the hard shoulder. At some point the front nearside wheel exploded which may or may not have contributed. All I saw was a splash of water on the screen, a flash of ASR light, bonnet folded up, headlights and finally tail lights.

I called the police immediately and traffic officers were there in about 30 minutes along with highways to put a couple of cones out. Was recovered to a compound in Bolton by 08:30.

No other vehicles involved (although the lady following me stopped to see if I was ok and a kind gent stopped and stood in the rain with me until the recovery guys arrived) and I am uninjured but a tiny bit queasy and dizzy.

Still undecided as to what to do with the poor car!

Sorry to hear this Nick. :(

The car is dead , get stripping the bits ( Comand , sprintbooster etc ) out of it before the salvage vultures get to it ... once its in the compound it will be raped for bits even before the insurance company starts negotiating with you ...

Glad you're ok. Now's your chance to get a CLK430 ;)

Sorry to hear about that mate.Glad you ok

Right now I have the sprintbooster, comand, satnav antenna, books and instructions, floor mats, jack, tool kit etc in a large box in front of me :) .

Car is going to 124works tomorrow where the vultures will not get chance to take anything off it!

Sorry to hear of your bad luck , still its go hear your not hurt , and on one else was involved , so the added worry of claims against you is not there

crazy, as long as your ok mate... end of an era there!

Thankfully it happened when the road was quiet, and thankfully you were able to walk away.

Do you want to sell the command...Wil it fit a clk w208???:D:D

Ouch - must of been a lot of water or your tread was a bit on the low side.

Glad you are OK anyway.

Wow - glad you are ok, and that you don't seem too shaken up.

Without wanting to scaremonger, may I ask roughly how fast you were going (a wink will do if neccessary!) and what tyres you were on?

Glad that you are in one piece, watch out for delayed shock though it can get you even days after the event.(I remember falling of a horse having passed out!)
The car can be replaced(Well......sort of) but I bet it will hold very fond memories of saving your life!

Sorry to hear about this, glad you are OK. Amazing that you ended up on the hard shoulder, and facing the right way!

Glad you're OK. Surely if screen isn't gone and pillars not bend then it's repairable, whether it's economic to do so though is up to you!
