Ok, so I have a BT Openreach Vivaro as my work vehicle. I'm mainly static in an office but occasionally venture out and about to support my team. BT have a contract with the AA, which includes 'Gold Service'. That basically means they will supply and fit, bulbs, batteries, body and mirror glasss, tyres, wiper blades etc at the roadside. So I call them saying my wiper blades are shot. I spot the patrol man (also in a Vivaro) entering the car park and as I was on the phone at the time I didn't answer his call waiting I went outside and thought I would be helpful by taking the old blades off. He then tells me he hasn't got them with him. A bit confused I ask why? He tells me the supplier needs to know the size. Bear in mind his control told him what vehicle I was was in and the reg number I then say to him: " Erm, but you are in an identical van, the wipers are the same!!" So he takes my blades and goes to leave. I tell him I need to go out urgently to deal with a cable theft and need the old blades as it's now drizzling, but show him the office window and ask him to pop them through the window when he has got them from the supplier. He then tells me again he needs them so he knows the size!! By now I'm thinkng to myself, is this guy for real? I politely ask if he has a tape measure on board, he says yes and I suggest he uses it to measure the blades. Is it me, or was this guy super stupid? God help me if I have any sort of technical problem with my van. Gotta love the 4th emergency service
