The Big Spring Clean

perfect day for it well done, i will have to do mine soon too

So R2D2 so seem to be the man to ask, how do I get rid of the 'mop' swirls the garage put on my paint when they polished it?:dk:

Way to clear this would be Dual Action polisher - something not so abrasive maybe 3M ultrafina, or Dodo Lime Prime - slow speed doing small section at any one time. - Final polish, machine applied

R2D2 - cars looking good.

One step further would be to de contaminate - Autosmart Tardis for the best tar removal + Iron X - iron contaminants and other fallout - followed by clay.

Man after my own heart using q-tips to clean - great to see such detail :O) Nice car

this pic here :

Tardis - Ironx + clay would clean down all the contaminants :O)

I used Autogym Tar remover to decontaminate. But most of the cleaning was sheer elbow grease!:)

I say a rotary polisher with soft pad and machine polish. It will take much less effort than a dual action polisher and give a getter result.

Until you burn the hmmmmm spoiler...:D

Hey what's with the "borrowed from garage" diesel gloves...:D

Great work - I always set out with the same intentions but get knackered ...

I am now buying more shares in Cotton Bud's after this :-)

it was demon shine though it's maybe just in a different bottle:)

i fitted stainless steel machine screws to replace my old rusty number plate ones :thumb: attention to detail !

Why not get the number plate screws with coloured caps. No screw showing and blends in with plate. Simples.

How long did you spend doing that? Whilst I applaud your dedication I just couldn't justify the time to go into that detail.:)

A car is a car, a tool to get you from A to B nothing more nothing less IMHO. Mine gets chucked into the Eastern European car cleaners once a week. £10 inside and out, job done.:D

I guess that's why I'll never have a classic motor though, too much time polishing means less time driving + I'd cry every time a bug splatted on it not for any concern for the poor bug of course:D I'd just be thinking God I've got to clean that little sod off before it welds itself to the car.:D:D

The state it was in before:

I'm knackered but the end result!:bannana:

(OCD not professional!)
The power of the silver Mercedes; never looks dirty yet never looks clean....
