The coupe looks rather good!

direct facial comparison of the lead competitors... whats your thoughts?

My thoughts,

BMW and Audi are so ahead of the exterior styling stakes and BMWs 5 series cabin is a most excellent looking design.

They've ruined the front of the 212 which I always liked and looks wise, the estate 212 is the one to get, in white and AMG kitted

The facelift looks better and better each time I see it. wait until you see one in the flesh you will all be converted :D

The Boss has one on order already!

Totally disagree, the BMW looks so bland, it looks like the E39, now, nothing against the E39 as the 530i sport is the car I have as the best all round car ever made, but it came out 17 years ago!!

The A6 looks very contemporary and always looks good on the road, and I think the new E Class will as well when we see it around.

It has made the pre facelift look very dated overnight imho.
Even my old man has now said he thinks he might come back to Mercedes now they have moved into the 21st century.
He said they no longer look like old people cars, and he is 68!

Should just add, the BMW in M-Sport guise looks far better, and their interior is superb, plus you can have it in all sorts of colours.

The coupe looks great.. Really dates the pre facelift... imagine they will plummet in value... (does anyone care though as most are on pcp/lease?)

They need to make an E63 AMG Coupe and cabriolet, preferably with 4x4 too :D.

Well, i should be worried then as mine isnt on lease. However, as it wont be sold until its done galactic mileage then it wont matter much....

Will it really damage the values that much? Mine is an estate and a diesel, and I think it is aimed at people who dont want an MSport this or S Line that - people like me who buy because it is more discrete, less ostentatious and more grown up (and yep, its silver with black leather...)

I knew when i bought it recently that the new front was coming - it was reflected in the price. I'm more than happy with the car, the deal and the fact it isnt the new face!

I'm surprised to say that I think the Merc looks by far the best of the 3- the BMW is bland, the Audi looks like every other Audi. BUT I still prefer the pre-facelift look with its stronger E character and gravity (though the one with star and trad grille in the facelift family pic does look good from that angle).

I thought BMW design died after the E39 and only had just come back on forum with the F10 which is a design that reeks of timeless class.

Age was kind on the E39 and W211 which IMHO are the peak of saloon car styling.

Facelift looks much better than the 'old' model, and certainly stands up against the BMW/Audi in that photo.

I do like the facelift and the pre facelift.

Will be looking at an E coupe or convertible when the time comes to change the Boxster.
