The tale of CLS55 ...

I get it, you were just being a politician :)

:D well I had to get my point across somehow didn't I ;)

Agree but a V8 does still sound lovely and is not too slow. I do like the facelift rear lights .. they have sharpened up the rear. The front end lower apron is just trying too hard.

Still, I'm not a fan of any of them bar the SL's and even then it has to be a new shape/facelift/glorified engine change or whatever you want to call it because at least now the 350's kind of move faster than syrup travelling down a 45 degree descent

I must say though. After having the SL55 in stock nothing compares to it in pulling power... The carerra 4S feels like a slug and a bentley flying spur struggled trying to hold its own with it

Don't associate me with that decision.

Just remember the Fiat Multipla

Voted by motoring magazines, motoring programs as the car of the year.

Sales however never matched the hype.

Now where have I heard that before? :D

I never did. We all know that your tastes are too refined for the CLS :p :p

And I am hurt that you put the CLS in the same category as a Fiat, let alone a Multipla :)

:D :D I agree the Multipla is far more practical. :) :D plus it had all those votes.

The reason the import company would have put it in their name would be to register the car in this country

true. Which is all likely hood probably means the buyer fell through, as on my imports I had registered 1st owner from new. I believe you have about 28 days to register it as new (and you can't drive it whilst its being registered either).

I've had 4 personal imports - never had an issue with servicing or warranty work. I've also acted as an agent for over 50 imports - never had a problem either with my clients cars.

The dealer network does 'bad mouth' them for want of a better expression - but although this is hogwash, and you can get a warranty extension for another year for less than 500 quid, it still affects the market and makes people nervous.

Likewise, selling an import for near list, or near 2nd hand price for a UK car doesn't help either.

Its all in the mind. The first two imports I had I made money on, when I sold them. The others I broke even. Not bad for 4 years motoring. Spec matters, typically imports are higher spec / models than the norm. Either way -they all come off the same production line.
