C63 AMG
Hi guys" im new to this site and owning a merc and a amg!
3 weeks ago i picked up my 2012 c63 amg coupe! Since then iv bean a little diserpointed with the amg and the power and delivery! Iv never drove a auto before or v8!! iv always had turbo"s subaru/evo"s and last car a rs focus in green!

When i put foot on gas! The rev needle goes round to 6-7000 revs but the car seems to go knowhere!! or sometimes it feels like its sticking! All of a suden it"ll come right in the power!! Just dont know if its becouse im new to a auto and amg! or there"s something not right with car!

Im asking if maybe someone else as got a c63 amg and had same probs! or someone can maybe drive my car and tell me if it feels ok! and its just me and not the car!!

thanks guys!

That does not sound at all right. If you put you foot down, the needle should fly round as you describe. This accompanied by a frankly ludicrous increase in speed. Get it into Mercedes ASAP.

The gearbox will kick down which can be a bit slow, then all hell should be unleashed.

You didn't buy that C63 lookalike 220CDI that was advertised on here did you?

Judging by the post i would say the "owner" is sbout 12 and the only car they have driven is on the xbox
Stuck up luv? Sorry but im a playstation guy myself lol:D

you can come round and see my c63amg at dy13eq if you think im 12 lol

No buddy! had from coventry mercades!

come on chaps give the guy the benefit of doubt , I don't think there is any need to be so critical of him .

Best bet is as Tack said, drop it back to the dealers to have it checked out. If you've only had it 3 weeks then there should be no problem with them taking a look, just tell them it's been like this since you picked it up from them.....

It may be going into some form of limp mode, but am guessing that there is a software or sensor gremlin.

Jules.

Thanks buddy! Nice to get some info and not get slated!
ok bud i will take back to dealer!
Was thinking of a Re-map! will this sort software probs out if got them!

im no expert or mechanic but its def not right and needs putting right so the dealer must sort it

it shouldn't need a remap as a standard car it has been made for optimum performance by merc, the dealer will know what the prob is and will put it on a reader and then replace or fix the faulty component

Some years ago I had some issues with a Vauxhall Omega that was still under warranty, and the dealer offered a test drive in one of their own cars so that I can see how it behaved compared to mine.

Surely the dealer has a nearly-new C63 on the forecourt - or a demonstrator - that you can test drive and see if it is any different to yours?

A remap will not sort the problem. The problem needs to be diagnosed first then fixed, it may be something very simple, but best bet is to get this resolved. Once sorted, then think about getting it remapped. Might be worth driving it in it's current standard state of tune once it's fixed and then see what you think....

A few '63 owners have had remaps on here with good results, mainly via Eurocharged. If you do want it remapping soon then Acid (MSL) has organised a special tuning event where Jerry (owner of Eurocharged) is coming over to remap some cars. There may still be places left, but may be best to contact Acid. See thread here;

Yes, defo need to get it checked out. Have you tried it in s / s+ / manual modes as well? same symptoms? at 6000 revs it is supposed to go somewhere! lol

Probably just a matter of getting used to an auto after having had manuals. Its a totally different feel when pulling away, when coming off the brakes and onto the fast pedal, there isn't always the positive transition you'd feel using a clutch. I find the 7G a bit strange sometimes, and also depends on which mode your in too - the pick up feels different I think. It can make pulling away from junctions/roundabouts feel a bit slow and jerky, like nothing then everything. I just try to think about my pull off and anticipate the delay, which isn't ideal, but with practice makes it easier to drive smoothly.

I had the same feeling when I bought my amg albeit the lesser c32 when coming from Japanese turbos , they just don't give you the kick in the back you expect ,mines now had the pulley & tune should be 400 bhp ish and the power delivery is so smooth you just don't realise how fast your going . I know how fast I used to be going at certain points and its now as much as 20mph more in the amg it just doesn't feel fast but it is
