Thinking my C63amg is"nt running right?

Bearing in mind your car can shred rear tyres for fun if yours is not then i would guess something is wrong!

Stuck up? No not at all.

As for inviting 41 year old men round your house to see your car, that may work for your usual boyfriends but I'll pass thank :-)

it shouldn't need a remap as a standard car it has been made for optimum performance by merc, the dealer will know what the prob is and will put it on a reader and then replace or fix the faulty component

Mercedes let it leave the factory with a safe and compromised performance setting :-)

Thankfully... Hence we can get them remapped for an extra 60ish bhp :-)

A remap will not sort the problem. The problem needs to be diagnosed first then fixed, it may be something very simple, but best bet is to get this resolved. Once sorted, then think about getting it remapped. Might be worth driving it in it's current standard state of tune once it's fixed and then see what you think....

A few '63 owners have had remaps on here with good results, mainly via Eurocharged. If you do want it remapping soon then Acid (MSL) has organised a special tuning event where Jerry (owner of Eurocharged) is coming over to remap some cars. There may still be places left, but may be best to contact Acid. See thread here;

Thanks for the link buddy!

Thanks for Advice! im takeing to a main dealer on tues morning and picking back up on the nite! Hopeing it"ll put my mind at rest (or put problem right) if there is one!!

Everyone is forgetting a C63 doesn't have the torque of a turbo or supercharged car, it doesn't feel that quick.

A 55k feels brutal in comparison to a '63.

I think it might have a tad more torque than an impreza or an evo! dont you think?

Tony.

Thinking its time to supercharge maybe then!! Looking at around 13k to fit and tune id say!

Had them both! My evo 9 rs was a animal and even put a lambo in its place upto 120mph!

Don't listen to Dieselman. The C63 has bags more torque than most if not all of the 2 litre jap turbos and even the 2.6 nissans. I have owned many of them. The C63 feels a lot faster, throughout the rev range.

As I said early on get it checked out!

Possibly not, and definitely less throttle response.

Throttle response is better on a good NA engine than a turbo. That is simply the nature of forced induction.

My Evo and my skylines felt very fast but for a split second there is a feeling of detachment as you floor it. When I floor the C63, there is no such feeling.

Most turbos have a little turbo lag also! But to be honest! The evo 9 mr had no lag and would kill a c63amg and bmw m3s

0-60 c63amg around 4.6
0-60 evo 9 fq 360 4.0
fq 400 3.8
these evo"s have very short gearing so are defo quicker off the mark!!

I thought the RS was just a lightweight Evo? so was yours tuned much?

Tony.
Yes buddy! the rs was a stripped out track model" the rs had better turbo! A evo-green turbo! and mine was running a mo-tec map and had full sports exourst! full alcon brakes!

was running at 440bhp at low boost! around 500 if boost was turned up!

My FQ360 had some lag, maybe not a lot but some. Perhaps because I have the ppp C63 with the light weight internals, but it certainly feels more connected than the EVO.

Don't get hung up on advertised 0-60. The 0-60 of the C63 has been tested at 3.8, but pay little heed to that also.

My EVO was an astonishing car, but not in the same league as the Merc. Not by a country mile, not in throttle response and not in pace (straight line pace).

A 40mph roll on test in top gear tradition? :thumb:
