Thinking of leaving :(

You've been saying about the C200 engine's lack of beans for a whole now, why not pick up a 230k W202 and transfer your mods across. That way you've got a faster car, without the looming repair bill and you've dodged the less attractive, higher depreciating, more expensive to fix/insure W203 :D

You can then break your old car for parts and sell the rest as scrap, or sell as standard with it's current issues.

i don't think the 230k W202 made it to Australia??
i just check all the used car sites online and none are listed
i guess none could be for sale?

but i've never seen one..

but yes that would solve a few issues ..

What the hell is a 'Liberty Wagon' ?

Sounds like a car for americans ... ;)

I believe we call it the 'Legacy'?!!

'Liberty Wagon' sounds like it has kept its Japanese name like the Nissan 350Z is called the 'Fairlady Z'!!!! Yuk....

done,

Ok can someone quote me on the price of a 230k W202
in top condition low K and the cost of sending it to
Australia...

Also with the Australia dollar being the worst it has ever been:(

but seriously what would the cost be????

anyone know??

How much is a bucket flight to the UK ?

Fly over , buy a car , arrange for it to be shipped back , few beers , fly back , job done .

You could do it all for £5k , including the car , maybe even a C36 for that.

i'd love a 36 :)
that's what i've been wanting for ages.

i asked on the aussie forum about importing
a car and they said an independent person can't
import a personal car after a certain date.

You also have to get over the hurdle that you can't import cars newer than 1989 production unless it is on the specialist car import list.
As the car was officially sold in Australia there is no way to get it onto this list so no way of getting it here as a private import.
Not sure about the rules relating to people emigrating.

Doing the numbers you are looking at a car that is selling for about 1000 pounds
Can't imagine that would be a very good car.
Cheers

from aussie forum

maybe a 230k is on that list as it was never sold is AUS??

HMM

any UK car Exporters on this forum??

Cheers

I'm sure its no car under 10 years old.. for personal import.. thats why we are starting to see 98/99 Honda Integra DC2's now.. my friend has just bought one, personal import.. but Aussie rules maybe different to our UK rules.

Car Exporters

I personally know an import/exporter, if you seriously interested I can put you in contact.

He can send you a car, from anywhere in the world to your door step..

Cheers
