This time i lasted 21 months...

My 'Man Maths' car purchasing strategy (ha!) over the last 15 years has been to chuck £5k & whatever I get for the current vehicle (trade-in or sale) into the new acquisition and hope/expect to get 3 relatively low-cost motoring years into the deal. Bizarrely, this haphazard approach has actually worked out OK as I charge my own business a 'fair rate' for mileage. Every time I do a 'swap', I appear to have more 'front end' to play with....how cool is that???!! The first car I did this with 15 years ago was a Vauxhall Senator 24v and I'm now sniffing at a CL600.....

I did a [rough] count up of the combined depreciation involved. Between 16 previous owners, my last five cars have cost close on £200k for somebody else and about £30k to me - including tyres, repairs, tax AND insurance. Depreciation...? What's that....?
