Been experimenting with these short plates, personally i like um, gives a nice clean look, plus does away with the number plate surround that I've never been a fan of, totally legal too. :)
What ya think?

If I'm honest, it's neither here nor there for me.

Short plates work great when the designated space is small (and the standard plates overrun on both sides).

But in this case there's appropriate space for the standard plate, so using a shorter one does not add much.

So they are both OK for me... sorry if this is not what you wanted to hear.

Just want opinions good, bad
or indifferent. :)

Short plates fine, carbon/embossed lettering however :crazy::crazy:

I hadn't thought of getting a plate to reflect my medical conditions!:D

Is some information missing on that plate :
"The British Standard also requires that a number plate must be marked with the following information: the British Standard Number, the name, trade mark, or other means of identification of the manufacturer or component supplier, the name and postcode of the supplying outlet."

You are correct, the plate on the car is just a mock up, to see if I like it. If I decide to go ahead they will be totally legal. :)
(Bin bitten once )

FWIW I like them (biased admittedly!), but for some reason I think the rear of the car gets away with it but the front doesn't! Albeit the sizing and spacing on your plate looks correct and legal, the rest is not for all the reasons pointed out above #11 (no doubt you already know) not that you asked! :D

I actually went one step further and butchered a wurth numberplate holder for mine (not that you can tell from such a high quality pic)!

I personally don't think they look good.
It would look much better on a full sized plate, lets face it you probably don't spend much time looking at it.
I always think negatively about them when I see one.
Just my opinion.

There's always the mid size, improvement over the short.

Don’t have a particular issue with short plates, still got legal fonts and not misspaced or anything.

That said I’m not sure I see the point when you have a normal recess. On a modified car or where the plate is off centre I think they work but does look a bit lost in the standard recess.

Good to see another OCD plate though :)

I have a short plate on the rear however in all honesty i dislike it.

Until i buy a new set it'll stay on. The front is standard due to the place holder.

If you were to keep yours i wouldn't of screwed the rear plate. I dislike the holes.

I use a Würth-style plate holder so there are no holes in the plate itself and no visible screws or bolts anywhere.

Said that, it adds to the plate's overall size, which is fine for my W204 but may not look so well on other models.
