I bought my 57plate B Class in May this year from a main dealer, and have covered approx 5k miles and needed some warranty work. So off to MB I go, a different dealer, nearer home, and was quizzed on the warranty. Nearside rear shock absorber needs replacing as do the driver seat belt. I had to produce service book as well as the letter stating I had tier1. The dealer had to get authorisation from the warranty company to complete the work, what is going on with MB. Now the question I asked the service reception, is it ok just to replace one shock absorber or should they be replaced in pairs. Still have not got an answer. Its the first time I have used a dealer for a few years and the level of service has slipped dramatically, no where near the same level as when I had my S Class. Interesting point, both the S Class and B were bought from the same dealer, and both needed warranty work to be carried out by the same dealer in Bristol. The difference in service in the 4 years is remarkable.
