Well, after weeks of reading about it, and researching, I finally went and did it. It took me all day, but I installed COMAND in my W204. Took out instrument cluster, carpet, all kinds of crazy stuff. Didn't think I'd get it back together, but I did. I din't put the fan in, but I will. Just need to order the correct parts. As I've stripped the car, should be relatively quick next time. Still need to put GPS antennae in, but taking IC out is a breeze.

Didn't even need to buy MB tools. Made pulling hooks out of a coat hanger, and used a credit card as a 'plastic wedge'.

After it was done I was worried as IC said 'ESP not operational' and 'run flat warning not operational'. Disconnected battery, now all good. Have engine management light on, but guessing that is because it now needs SCN coding due to new hardwear.

Well done.

Once you get all the parts to complete the job you really should get the car SCN coded and those lights checked.
