   :(

Been away on a buisness trip and parked the beloved merc in PinkElephant at Heathrow, On return today found the image below greeting me.

They took the command 2 head unit and 6 disc player from the glove box.

Police had already been and tried to finger print, hence the silver powder.

Currently waiting for autoglass to refit the NSF window. Merc insurance have also arranged for Solus to reapir the car next week, does anyone know if they are any good?

Pink Elephant sat they are not liable, I think I will look into this, as they are supposed to be a secure car park. Does anyone know if i have a case against Pink Elephant?

Apparently another merc was done at the same time.

You can see why they cut the hands off of thieves in other countries. Total lack of respect.

Thats appalling,  Sorry to see it.
I don't know what liability they have, but if they accept no responsibility then we should all boycott the place,(And let them know) I am sure there are quite a few on this site that use these Airport parking companies, I think I will phone them up for a price, and ask what security they offer & what responsibility they will take for my car for the money they charge

Thanks Mark.

I was suppoosed to be going to a wedding tomorrow in Scarborough. Misses had new outfit and everything.

Oh well, I hope they catch the scum bag and chop off his nuts!!!!

Sorry to see that, what a mess they've made

Scumbags ... sadly they know that even IF they are caught, they'll get little more than a smack on the wrists  .

Look out for COMAND units on eBay shortly ... think I'll pull mine tomorrow and mark it with a UV pen ...

Was there no CCTV at the car park then?

Feel for you, mate.

This sounds like a contender for Watchdog to me. They are offering and you are paying for secure parking. HOw can this happen if it's as secure as they say.

Give them another chance to pay up or tell them you're off to Watchdog. You're probably not the only one!

Gutted for you - that's a real mess.

I've looked on Ebay, nothing yet.

They do indeed have CCTV, which they use to control the buses throughout the car park. They are not used for security as such, The nice chapo also said that it appears the car was done in broad daylight!!!!.

The police also asked for the CCTV tapes.

I have yet to speak to the local police have a number to contact them tomorrow.

The problem with the car park, is that they currently have a new entrance being built where the buses leave the car park, also the barrier is not the same height as the fence, so you can get in easily.

....wether they pay up or not, tell BBC Watchdog anyway.

That's awful mate - absolutely gutted for you :(

How did they break in?

As quick as anyone could be, it'd still take some time at a guess to remove all that lot, even if it was a matter of minutes, their car parks are 'manned 24 hours a day'

I'd be fuming and looking for an explanation.

Will

Forgot to mention that when they broke the Near side front glass they bent the side of the window runner, so could be looking at a new door too!!!!

Sorry to hear about the damage to your car. The B******S should have their hands cut off.

Suspect may be the work of the great unwashed who are encamped on and around the Terminal 5 construction site. It is really ugly: Russian prostitutes on tap and every form of low life you can imagine.

Police will only go in mob handed

The saga continues, can today get any worse??

Autoglass have just left without replacing the glass. it appears I have clamps and the glass has holes, so the clamps dont line up with the glass

Merc have changed the way the windows are held in place on the w203 and autoglass dont know about it.

I am now waiting for a recovery truck to take the car into "secure" storage overnight.

I will keep you posted.

PS I am definitely going. to contact pink elephant
PPS thanks for all your support

woah! my heart sank when I saw those pictures. Does it look as if the dashboard is badly damaged? (not panels but the main dash)

solus from what I have heard are very good and very expensive too! they are authorised poor-chase repairs people. (doesn't mean anything I know)

I think you should sell your car once it comes back from the lengthy repairs. also don't take it back unless the dash is totally fixed with no dents or gashes anywhere and check that all the electrics + comand works.

The Garage that will repair the car are a Merc approved one, Hope they do it OK.

Because I reported the incident on a Friday, I can't offically have a car until MOnday. Solus Would have knidly got me a three day hire, but I wouldn't be able to go to the airport on Moday in it and Someone named on the insurance policy has to unhire it.

I am currently waiting to see if the Insurance company will get me a car.

Here's hoping
