Took advantage of today's weather.

I agree that CG 50/50 is an excellent wax. Easy to apply and very long lasting. Washed SWMBO's car today (which has two coats of 50/50 on) and it came up treat. It is matching the collinite on mine so far for durability.

The Collinite 915 on mine is holding up really well. It's been about 9weeks since I applied it. I finish each wash with a wipe over with Last Touch. Once that starts to drag I know it's time for another coat of wax :)

I am amazed your paintwork is immaculate if you dry wipe two weeks worth of dirt off:confused:

As was I, mystified is another relevant word here! Hope it wasn't a one-off and that it wasn't just a case of the right kind of dirt covering my car, but it was quite amazing considering the rain, debris from fireworks and wet motorway driving the paintwork endured.

This weekend's first will be alloy wheel clay-bar and wax, and grille and bonnet star polishing (the star's surface is very rough with a couple of what I can describe as quite sharp lumps). It willbe a first because whenever I want to do it it's wet and dark and miserable.

I might also try to give the carpets a quick shampoo though with a car like mine I'd rather leave it to the professionals (and I have only used one of those quick foam sprays with built in plastic brush (that sheds like nothing else!) so proper shampoo will be a first). That is if I have time.

915 is a great wax. Great value for money and great durability. I see you have silver W203, I can recommend a coat of pooorboys EX-P before 915. It really brings out the flake in the silver:)

Took advantage as well , after SWMBO made me put up a curtain pole and a mirror , on my birthday !
took the other car for a spin though....

I currently use carlack68. Would the EX-P provide something better? I might give it a go next time I strip down to the clearcoat

It's probably fine for use on Californian ultra dry dust. Many sign it's praises but I'm not convinced

We have a nennette for the showroom and its only for dust that gathers indoors if your car is sat in the garage etc... You dont want to be cleaning your car with it!

Fantastic bit of kit.

I also took the opportunity to stick the roof on and do a bit of spit and polish.

I thought I wouldnt bother putting the roof on this winter but I'm glad I did now, it completely changes the car. :bannana:

Yep - Spent two or so hours washing and waxing the car. Didn't bother with the wheels as they are being changed soon and I dont like them so decided they looked better dirty. :D

Are those Alloygators on the wheels?

Paint looks lovely btw, but I'd still clean the wheels even if you don't like them lol

I've always wanted to try one of these for dry, dusty summer clean-ups

California Car Duster with Plastic Handle - Car Duster - CaliforniaCarDusters.com

Never had the courage :o

If the car is inside, a showroom for example, they are fine. Anything else you're asking for trouble. In this country if you want a quick way to spruce your car up you can use quick detailer with a few very soft microfibre cloths. However, you can only do this is the car is VERY lightly dusted otherwise you will damage your paint. Anything other than very light dust I would only ever wash it.

Nope. Its the actual design of the wheels. IMO they are disgusting and dont suit the car at all. I have the dealer to thank for putting them on the car.

They are being changed for 19" Kleemann alloys in a few weeks.

Thanks. :thumb:

If you are already using carlack under the Colly, then I don't think you will notice much improvement with EX-P.
