Top 3 cars you love to burn off

I'll have a go at that!!

Ok, it would have to be in snow/ice/damp grass/or a REALLY wet slippery piece of road, and even then only to ~60mph. :p

Or preferably a farm track where you don't get the ground clearance to drive down it..... ;)

P.s. whats the 0-100 on yours? Got to be somewhere around the 10 second mark?

LOL! Think I would loose there!!

0 -100 is about 10.1sec from seeing other CL's which have been timed.

[found it amusing that a boyed up honda ?civic? RS had a go around the oxford ring road - ok he won from 0- 40 mph - but from 40 - 140 mph......]

Hope i dont fall into this category as i have a Civic type R aswell ;-) Great fun to drive!

My top 3 would be:

1) Golf's
2) 3 Series BMW's (except M3 ;-))
3) Audi TT's

I cant think of any one in particular but today I was sat at some local lights which have a two lane merge into one situation. I always, it seems, sit in the left non merge lane and go with the flow due in part to the fact that most times I'm in the Polo. Today I am not, I am in my proper car and out out the corner of my right eye I see (only just) the blue coloured bonnet of a car seemingly wanting to play so I returned the offer and I seemed to win with ease :D .

This is all totally out of character for me you understand but, as I glance in my rear view mirror, what do I see pulling in behind me?, a dark blue Mercedes C200K saloon :o. No doubt he will post about it on here before long!

Burtn off (OK, pulled away from) an Audi RS6 today, that was a bit of a challenge!

Yeah, but he had his wife, his grandma and dog on the backseat, on the way to the tip with a boot full of rubbish :D :D

LOL! He did have his wife with him, and she smiled to me at 155mph, just gotta get that limiter removed! (and remember to press the Sports button next time !!)

From 100mph upto 155 I slowley pulled away, and then slowed down, let him overtake me and then overtook him :D

Of course all in controlled conditions at Bruntingthorpe this morning ;)

Dont want to sound rude but how did you know it was a C200K?

Err, a mixture of chastened embarasment for my misunderstanding and, road position a bit later on during the drive. I sort of held back after the event, feeling a little bit non-smug. A couple of miles further on there is the new Bingley by-pass and he......, well, you can guess the rest. I f you cant?, he came wafting serenely past me. Me doing about 50, he doing about 51!.

I kinda saw his badge and all at that point :o .

You should have had one of those easily - I outran an RS6 in the M3 (and the engine noise and fully-loaded up suspension says that he WAS trying!). Mind you, I did end up sideways whilst trying.....

I hope this one I encountered was chipped then!
I think they put out about 450 - 480bhp stock from memory?

I took some satisfaction in smoking a bmw 5-series with an M5 bodykit. I only felt the need because it was on a motorway sliproad straight after the junction and the 5-series decided to pull out into the second lane of the sliproad to overtake me. Seems silly to want to overtake someone who is obviously going to accelerate up to 70-80mph. He didn't make it past me. It wasn't until we were caught up in traffic about 10 mins later that I saw the lack of exhaust pipes and badges on the back as he rolled past at about 1mph faster, it had a rusty drainpipe of an exhaust and what appeared to be cloth interior. Not really doing the bodykit any justice!

Yeah - think the 'base' model has just over 450bhp, with the 'Plus' having around 480 - seems quite easy to tune them up to high numbers, so never know what that one was packing.

To be fair, the one I encountered was across lower speed roads, so might have given me the advantage, however I'd be amazed if yours wouldn't leave an M3 for dust, which is why I was surprised that an RS6 gave you any probs.....

I take a lot of pleasure in "despatching" anything expensive or performance oriented. Everyone local knows my Rex these days and the local boyracer crew just smile - I get the occasional knob who wants to try it on in his barryboy special, but they just arent worth the petrol.

My favourites are the one who come alongside in the "turn right" lane expecting to get away before you and go straight over and cut in front. They suffer the most :D

On the motorway - Scoobies, Evo's, TVR's, Porkers, etc are fair game, and a few days ago I outnoised a Ferrari 355 on the M11, then whooped him mid range acceleration until common sense prevailed again.
As he cruised past me in the outside lane I was pleased to see a thumbs up and a nod.

Not bad for a 1600cc 4cyl rice rocket :bannana:

Was it a Grandad by any chance ;) Had a mini 0-50MPH blast once with a Grandad in the CL.

Who are the best people/places to go to to de-restrict AMGs? - When I get mine thats the first and only mod I will be looking into doing (apart from alloy wheel swap....)

M3 wouldn't have a chance against an RS6, dude you sure it wasn't an S6 or Rs4 you came across? The M3 man would have to get his gear changes just right to be slightly behind the RS6, all the RS6 needs to do is get a half decent start then once foot's flat leave it there, it does sub 13 quarter mile as standard and has prodigious grip, nice car but bit big(Sure the CL drivers will laugh at that comment!).

Forgot to add I love getting overtaken by seriously quick cars under heavya cceleration it's great fun seeing real cars driven properly but nothing prepared me for the other night. Driving along dual carriageway overtaking saw a flash in my mirror, got undertaken in slow lane by a CL65 , it's like a flying bomb on the road, the acceleration was shocking and gave me a real adrenal reaction, what a car, absolutely incredible(and with an autobox!).

I've been a passenger in a CL65 being driven hard , and i can honestly say that in the real world there is nothing else on the road that can touch it ...

Scared me a bit actually ....... :o

I would be willing to bet an Aerial Atom would do the trick ;)

LOL !! Fair point ! not a particularly practical car though ....

I was held up by an Astra police panda car, driven by a couple of the younger constabulary. They were doing about 40-45 in a 50, and I wanted to make more progress  . So there was a short dual carriageway off the roundabout we were crossing and I floored the my C230k that I used to have and got well ahead of them (but kept within the speed limit) :bannana: . Then put the car on cruise at about 53 mph. They swooped up on me awfully quickly and tailed me for about 2 miles before turning off. I think they were ready for a chase  . Still, I reckon I saved myself about a minute or so on my journey home. I didn't think they could do much as it's not a crime to accelerate and the car was A1? So long as you are safe, it's just your car is a bit faster than a 1.3/1.6 Astra :p
