Towing and driving abroad

Against my best judgment I may have to fit a tow bar to my car in order to bail out my parents (need to take their caravan to Spain!!)
Any mods I need to do or problems towing with a C240??
Do I have to do anything to my lights to drive abroad, or any other things to watch out for?
Or does anyone have a spare car with a tow bar I car borrow for the week

Couldn't comment on fitting a tow bar, although I'm sure the C240 will cope well enough.

You need to get the headlamp masks (from the DEALER - don't get the Halfords ones - they are rubbish!) , and make sure you have GB Numberplates or a GB sticker. (Numberplates better )

Spare Bulb kit would be advisable, depending on which countries you will be travelling through.

100% with that idea Satch but my parent are in the middle of a move to Spain and the house sale in the UK has fallen through leaving them in Spian with no house and diminishing funds until they find a new buyer for their house, so its me to the rescue I'm afraid

How about hiring a car with a tow bar?

If it's just a one off - could work out a better option all round. Ppl will always look at a car with a tow bar as a bit sus and won't believe you only used it the once .

Just a thought.
