Track a factory order?

hi all

Do you know anyway to track a factory order?

Would any other Mercedes garage be able to track an order or does it have to be the delivery garage?

Skeptical over what the dealership is telling me.

Currently, on my order form it says it’s on Route de Mothern 2, Lauterbourg.

I’m confused - no idea what’s there, and I would of presumed it was coming in via boat. Dealership is in Hull too..

Any ideas? I have the VIN - tried Mercedes me but you need the verification code on the dashboard

If you Google maps aerial view that address- it turns out to be an enormous parking lot for cars in transit. Its close to what looks like a commercial port and railway marshalling yard so I assume its waiting for a car transport /ferry?

Ah. That may make sense. The only thing I saw on google was a car auction site which I presumed all those cars were! I was getting skeptical. I also presumed they would transport via cargo ship as I didn’t imagine they would use the channel crossing. Don’t know why I thought that in hindsight

They normally bring them in on a ship. Seems to take about a week from port in Europe to dealers.

This place Lauterbourg is land-locked and in France. That’s what I was confused about I guess. Maybe it is a just a central hub

The Mercedes Me services are free for the first 3 years, except Office which is free for only 1 year. You never have to pay for data for the car sim - just the services.

JBD works for MB and may be able to access the data you need from their system if you ask him nicely? Your order number might help also if you have that?

JBD - yeah, I would really appreciate that thank you. Last I got told the dealership can only see full tracking details so if you have access more than I would appreciate that! VIN as described above and if you need sales order, please let me know and I’ll dig jt out

I’m with you on that. I’d be quite happy with a standard parcel like tracking system. The dealers have this, can’t be hard to share with customers without all the fancy ‘joyful anticipation’ stuff
