Track a factory order?

Who knows, the dealer mentioned Zeebrugge so I don't know if they cross The Atlantic into mainland Europe first or ship directly to UK. It was built in mid August so it must be a 'slow-boat' :(:(
My guess and its only as guess would be the bulk of cars crossing the Atlantic would in the main be LHD and as such it would make sense that any bulk transport would head initially for Europe?? Any further RHD MODEL shipping from Europe to the UK might then usefully be joined at some point by cars manufactured in Europe and possibly elsewhere such as South Africa. There was a thread about this some time ago about MB shipping in a global context but cant find it at the moment.
ps possibly answered now by Whitenemesis in the meantime:)

There must have been a mix of LHD and RHD from Japan as the ship called in a number of ports en-route to Bristol and then on to Zeebrugge.

Can someone tell me when likely I may be getting my CLA 250 2020?
I ordered if since Oct 2019 and yet to receive it. My dealership initially said I should be getting it by mid/end of january 2020 but I have not, they kept on postponing it when ever I call them. They said it is already manufactured and waiting for transport.
How can I track it myself? Thanks in advance

You may be able to track it via the Mercedes me application under owners on the Canadian MB website. Functionality varies according to country. [ in Germany owners can monitor a cars progress from the production line onwards VIA "Joyful Anticipation"] At minimum you will need the car's purchase order no and VIN number. The vin number should have been issued when it was released from production and your MB dealer should have that by now.

@grober
Thanks for your reply.
I have already linked the VIN with the Mercedes me app but it looks I still have to contact the dealership for me to be able to get full access of this vehicle.
Do you think it dealership should have an exact detailed status of this vehicle - I mean like what port is it at, when likely is it going to be shipped, and so on?

JBD, new here. was wondering if you can tell me what "going into production means?

It means it’s being built.

Not that much is being built at the moment

Thanks JBD. My GLC went into production last week of February, so possibly sitting around somewhere?

Hi could anyone help me please? I am trying to find the chassis number of a SL that I am looking at and only have the reg LE07FPP. Many thanks

MOT wise it was last done 9 May 2018 at 76,155miles and lapsed 6th June 2019. Why not ask the seller for the VIN no?

i can’t get hold them at the moment and wanted to check what equipment it had before I went any further that’s why I was after the chassis number.

Hi All,

I have just ordered a face lift E Class estate and have a vague delivery date of November at he moment from the dealer.

What are the various steps in the order system and at what stage can I be sure it is actually in the system!

Cheers
Jim

Right, I might be really silly here, but isn’t giving your VIN over the internet like confidential details?
With newer cars , anyone can see it when your car is parked in the street , same with registration no .

Not an issue .

I’m with you on that. I’d be quite happy with a standard parcel like tracking system. The dealers have this, can’t be hard to share with customers without all the fancy ‘joyful anticipation’ stuff
They’ll probably play you all nine symphonies , culminating in ‘Ode to Joy’ while you are kept on hold ...
