find a late 320 estate with all the toys and you'll be a very happy man

Personal preference and I know others will disagree but I really think the 5 speed auto box is the best choice.

So far there seem to be a couple of issues to be concerned about with the 6 cylinder W124's. I read one report that says cylinder head gasket failure seems to be a certainty and is a £1500 repair. I also read that wiring loom failure due to heat is common and that the part alone is £500. I also wonder if there's a likelihood of rust behind that lower body cladding.

most of them will have had the head gasket done by now, if and when the loom fails then yep, it's a £500 job but again, you may find one that has been fixed already.

Front wings are the place to look for rust, the doors don't seem to suffer.

Well, I've put the C180 up for sale at £19995 so now the hunt begins !
