I need to replace the turbo on my Vito 120. As you probably know it has the V6 3.0L Cdi OM642 motor installed derived from the C,E,S 320's.

I am trawiling the net for a replacement but I am struggling to find a specific Turbo unit for the Vito 120.

Q:- Will a unit from the C,E,ML or S 320's be a straight swap??

Any help would be appreciated, also is this a Viable 'DIY' swap for a competant (Not Motor) Engineer?

Best Regards,

What's wrong with the turbo?

Access is very tight on the vans. The turbo retaining bolts are very tight too.

Its really noisy and the enging is sluggish and down on top end power. 110,000 miles

The noise is definatly coming from the turbo. It sounds rough with a rumbly bearing noise. Want to get it swapped out asap before something cloggs in the intercooler or the engine injests somthing from it.

If anybody can recommend a Tech to do the work then even better?
