Tv not working on my 2003 clk (w209) since changeover from analogue to digital

Hi, I'm new to posting on this forum, so hope it goes to the right place. I have a mercedes 2003 clk, which has a factory fitted comand unit (which has tv and sat nav built in). From researching online at various things, I'm sure the model of my comand unit is the 2.0 one. Before the switchover from analogue to digital tv, the tv in the car worked fine and now that it's turned off, the tv doesn't work at all. Does anyone know what the cheapest way to have the tv on the comand unit work, to receive digital signal? Any help or advice would be much appreciated as I'd love to have it working again. Thanks!

you can get digital TV interface for it - been discussed on here I believe. I had a multimedia adaptor on my CLK which i connected a DVD player to when i had it - same sort of thing, just connect a modern "in car" digital reciever to it.

i think even your current tuner may have aux-in on it (in the boot?), if so just add a digial reciever to that

Hi. I think the auxiliary for the stereo is in the glovebox, but no idea how to work it or connect to it? Any ideas?

This is an audio AUX input, cannot use it for TV. If you've got analogue TV in the car, you can use the AUX inputs from the TV tuner which SilverSaloon must have referred to.

The aux-in in the glovebox is for connection from your smartphone headphones socket. These cables can be bought cheaply from e-bay or even Tesco.
I haven't seen a 'cheap' digital TV solution, but something rings a bell about a standard freeview digital box being butchered to provide digital in.
Remember - you won't get video in motion.

So am I right in thinking that, the aux-in in the glovebox is for a smartphone and there will be a separate aux-in for the tv. I have a factory comand unit in my car with tv and sat nav which worked before digital switchover. Do you know by any chance if the aux-in for the tv is on the back of the comand unit or on a separate unit in the boot perhaps? Thanks

The glovebox aux in is for any audio source, smart or dummy phones being an example. The TV AUX inputs are at the TV tuner at the trunk (as SilverSaloon already mentioned earlier in the thread).

Do you know how easy the access to the tv tuner in the boot is? Or how to get at it.

Still haven't got the analogue to digital signal fixed :(
Quoted around £500 to update and fit new required bits to receive digital signal, so keeping an eye out for a slightly cheaper way round it!
