Hi,

Ive just taken ownership of my very first old yet gorgeous Merc C240 Elegance (2000 V reg)

Ive noticed these two lights on the dash as driving and wondered if they should be or if theres an error/fault.... worry?

Cheers

Carl.

Error with breaking system, would get it checked out asap.

Might only be a dodgy sensor, but still.

It might be worth reading the manual to familiarise your self with the warning lights.

Killer: Took your advice and had a star check this morning. Lights were not on when car started up today. So must be an intermittent issue. Star results shows a stuck solenoid but was an old fault which had cleared down.

Apart from that nothing else which was a relief.

Thanks for the help.

sTWAT: your jokes are as old as your avatar! ;-) But i do love you!

Also stwat: just had a look at your 1988 190E 2.3-16. Id love that car....... did you sell it? how much is it worth?

stwat did make a valid point, they are clearly warning lights and as such should not be illuminated unless warning you of a problem.

It could be a number of things causing it but the most likely is a faulty brake light switch.

As these are cheap (around £15 from MB) it might be worth changing that if it recurs and see if the problem goes away. If not then hopefully you can get it on a Star machine whilst the lights are on.

It wasn't a joke or a dig whatsoever. Simply a tip. You should always have at least basic knowledge about the many various warning lights on the dash and what they mean:thumb:

Sadly I no longer own the 2.3-16. It had become a bit of a rot box underneath and sadly I ran out of funds at that time, so had to let it go :wallbash:
